Hades II is leaving Early Access soon

The wait is nearly over. Supergiant Games have announced that Hades II will officially launch in its v1.0 version on September 25, 2025.

To celebrate the upcoming release, a brand-new Launch Trailer has been unveiled. And it’s giving us a stylish new glimpse into the full underworld experience.

The Path from Early Access

If you’ve been part of the journey on Steam or the Epic Games Store, the v1.0 release will be delivered as a free, automatic update.

New players can purchase the full digital game at its current price on these PC platforms.

Coming to Nintendo Switch & Nintendo Switch 2

Hades II is also making its console debut and is available now for pre-order on the Nintendo eShop for both Nintendo Switch and the new Nintendo Switch 2.

Supergiant have spent time to optimise the game to take full advantage of the new hardware:

  • Nintendo Switch 2: Experience the action at a blistering 120 frames-per-second at 1080p resolution in TV Mode, or a smooth 60 frames-per-second at 1080p in Handheld Mode.
  • Nintendo Switch: The game runs at a consistent 60 frames-per-second at 720p in both TV and Handheld modes.

If you have a Switch 2, you can even upgrade your original Switch version for free!

Cross-Saves Now Supported

Among the many new features in v1.0, Hades II will now support cross-saves. Players can seamlessly transfer their progress between the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 versions.

Additionally, PC players can transfer their save data between the Steam and Epic Games Store versions, ensuring you can continue your journey from Early Access on your Nintendo console of choice via a simple in-game menu.

Nintendo Switch 2 Physical Edition Arrives 20th November

A special retail edition of Hades II for the Nintendo Switch 2 will be available starting 20th November, for $39.99 USD.

This physical version is also compatible with the original Nintendo Switch and includes:

  • A standard physical game card.
  • A reversible cover.
  • A full-colour Character Compendium booklet featuring art from the game.
  • A download code for the Hades II Original Soundtrack, with nearly four hours of music.

A Word from the Developers: Time Cannot Be Stopped

Hades II marks the first-ever sequel from our team, a project we have poured everything into for over four and a half years. Since entering Early Access in May 2024, we have worked alongside our incredible player community, whose feedback has been instrumental in helping us realize the game’s full potential. The result is the biggest game we have ever made, and one we hope you’ll find to be a worthy successor to its namesake.

To all our Early Access players, thank you for your inspiration and support. To all our prospective players, thank you for your patience. We cannot wait to share the complete experience with all of you later this month.

Exciting times!

We loved the original Hades and sunk plenty of time trying to get Zagreus out! But we’ve held off on Hades II until it comes out of Early Access, which is only a couple of weeks away.

It’s time for us to get familiar with Melinoe and Chronos.

Let’s see how the underworld has changed since our last visit and report back here in due course!
