Halo Infinite: Haloween II is here

Halo Studios has kicked off its latest event, “Operation: Haloween II,” in Halo Infinite. Bringing a spooky twist to the battlefield.

The event, which is now live and runs until November 18, introduces new content and celebrates the 10th anniversary of a fan-favourite title.

I remember putting a news post up for the first Haloween last year, and it looks like were seeing more of the fun in 2025.

Survive the undead this Haloween

The centerpiece of the event is the return of the “Survive the Undead” playlist.

This is a Firefight mode that pits players against relentless waves of enemies.

To keep things fresh, four new maps created by the Forge Falcons have been added to this mode. So there are new challenges for players to overcome (like, remembering where to go when it gets chaotic!).

Halo 5 10th Anniversary

In a nod to the franchise’s history, the event also celebrates the 10th anniversary of Halo 5: Guardians.

On October 28, players will see the return of the “Extermination” game mode. This is a 4v4 Slayer variant where a team must completely wipe out the opposing team before any of them can respawn.

Four iconic armour sets from Halo 5 – Hunter, Helljumper, Copperhead, and Shinobi – will also be making their debut in Halo Infinite.

Not very spooky, but a great addition in the Haloween II update!

Playlist updates

For even more fun this Haloween, The “Squad Battle” playlist is also receiving a significant update. Including the addition of two new maps: Longshore and First Light.

The playlist will also feature a new default loadout. As well as improved matchmaking, and updates to the King of the Hill mode.

This should be a more refined and balanced experience for players.

The update also includes several quality-of-life improvements, such as clearer mode titles and updated Forge canvases.

Free pass and new customisations

As with previous events, “Operation: Haloween II” includes an Operation Pass with both free and premium tiers.

The free pass will reward players with the Dirgesinger armour set. While the premium pass offers a variety of additional cosmetic items.

For those looking to further customize their Spartans, the in-game shop has been updated with new cosmetic bundles.

With the “All Halo’s Eve Bundle” and the “Promethean Raider” bundle being the main features.

The Exchange also features a selection of new and returning items! With many sporting a Flood and HAZMAT theme, perfect for the spooky season.
