News: Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta Test

We’re a little late on this Monster Hunter Wilds open beta news, but not too late for it still to be news!

Monster Hunter Wilds is on the horizon, and we’ve got a golden opportunity to sink our teeth into the action early. Capcom must be feeling confident, because there’s an Open Beta Test (OBT), and it’s coming in hot with a change to dig into it for a couple of days!

This is our chance to explore new sprawling landscapes, hunt new monsters, see how it performs, and well, no doubt get ninjarefinery.com over-hyped for the next game in the series.

But don’t get caught napping – this beta isn’t sticking around forever!

Monster Hunter Wilds OBT:

  • Platforms: Whether you’re rocking a PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, or a beastly gaming PC, you’re in luck! This OBT is open to all platforms.
  • Dates: Pencil these in your calendar, because you won’t want to miss out:
    • PlayStation Plus Early Birds: October 29th, 2024 at 3:00 AM GMT to October 31st, 2024 at 2:59 AM GMT (PS Plus required).
    • Open Season for Everyone: November 1st, 2024 at 3:00 AM GMT to November 4th, 2024 at 2:59 AM GMT.

What’s in Store

This ain’t no measly demo, folks. There’s a surprising amount of content to dive into.

  • Hunter’s Paradise: Craft your perfect hunter and Palico companion with all the bells and whistles. Experiment with different looks, and best of all, carry your creation over to the full game!
  • Story Time: Get a taste of the narrative with the opening cutscene and a thrilling Chatacabra hunt. The perfect way to learn the basics and get a feel for the fluid combat.
  • Alpha Encounter: Square off against the mighty Doshaguma, leader of the pack. Traverse the map on your trusty Seikret and swap between weapon types on the fly for a truly dynamic hunting experience.
  • Hunting Buddies: Team up with fellow hunters online, regardless of platform, thanks to crossplay! Fire off an SOS Flare to call in reinforcements from other players or even NPC Support Hunters.
  • Bonus Loot: As if getting early access wasn’t enough, everyone who participates in the OBT will bag themselves an exclusive item to use in the full game. Sweet!

Get Wild

Consider this your training ground before the main event. The Monster Hunter Wilds OBT is the perfect way to prep for the full release on February 28th, 2025. Round up your hunting party, download the client, and get ready to unleash your inner beast!

I’m so pumped. Looking at the recommended specs, I think some folk are going to find themselves struggling. Monster Hunter Wilds isn’t like Rise, which was built around the Nintendo Switch. It’s going to be more akin to Monster Hunter World, the game that started it all for me.

Keep those eyes peeled for updates and announcements on the official Monster Hunter social media channels, and of course here at ninjarefinery.com and over at fullsync.co.uk

It’s gonna be great! Lets see how it’s shaping-up and we’ll report back asap.
