Slim Shady Has Arrived

We’ve already talked about the latest Celebrity Elusive Target coming to Hitman this week (it’s already out!). Eminem is here and he wants us to take down Slim Shady.

It’s downloaded and ready to go, but we haven’t been on the hunt just yet.

However. The elusive target also ushers in a new season and the update brings with it a slew of fixes and changes. So, whilst we get ready to tackle Slim Shady, here’s all the details of the new seaon and updates.

Slim Shady

The World of Assassination has entered a surreal new era with the launch of the Season of Eminem vs. Slim Shady alongside the comprehensive Game Update 3.250.

This update marks one of the most significant and unexpected collaborations in the franchise’s history. Bringing a massive influx of content, technical improvements, and platform expansions to close out the year.

The Headline Event: Eminem vs. Slim Shady

The centerpiece of this season is a unique Celebrity Elusive Target mission. Rap Icon Eminem enlists Agent 47 to help him finally put his twisted alter ego, Slim Shady, to rest.

This mission takes place in a completely reimagined version of Hokkaido. Transformed into the eerie Popsomp Hills Asylum.

Players will navigate through unsettling spaces and witness a unique performance that blurs the line between reality and the rapper’s internal duality.

The mission was created in partnership with Eminem and his longtime manager Paul Rosenberg to ensure it captures the authentic chaotic energy of the The Death of Slim Shady concept.

Access Options and Premium Content

Accessing this new content varies slightly depending on your version of the game. Owners of the full World of Assassination will have access to the traditional, high-stakes “one chance only” Elusive Target mission from December 1st through December 31st.

However, players using the Free Starter Pack are not left out. They can engage with the content through a two-level Arcade contract titled The Antithesis. This version features a specific mechanic where failure results in a thirty-minute cooldown before the contract can be reattempted. Resetting progress to the first level.

For superfans, IO Interactive has released the Eminem vs. Slim Shady Pack DLC for purchase. This premium pack permanently unlocks The Antithesis Arcade contract and adds a collection of themed items to your inventory.

These items include The MC Fit suit, The Prank Pistol, a weaponized version of Mr. Chainsaw Jr., a throwable Jar of Mom’s Spaghetti Sauce. Plus, four cosmetic items to decorate the Freelancer Safehouse.

Additionally, players can unlock the new Chainsaw Duck. Simply by playing the new mission or Arcade contract with a linked IOI account.

Platform Expansions and Technical Updates

Under the hood, Game Update 3.250 brings massive technical changes and expands the game’s availability. The update ranges in size from 2.1GB to 13GB depending on the platform.

A major highlight of this patch is the official support for new hardware, as the game is now playable on the ROG Ally X and the Nintendo Switch 2. With the latter receiving the update immediately upon launching the game after maintenance.

Additionally, the title has now joined the Xbox Play Anywhere program. Allowing for seamless progress synchronization between Xbox consoles and Microsoft PC.

The developers have also implemented “God Eye” performance improvements. This will ensure that all platforms feel the visual and stability uplift intended in previous patches.

Major Bug Fixes and Quality of Life Improvements

The patch notes reveal an extensive list of bug fixes aimed at polishing the experience across all game modes.

In terms of level design, the “Light My Fire” challenge in Ambrose Island has been corrected to properly require lighting four braziers rather than three.

Also, a glitch in Dubai that allowed Agent 47 to dump bodies into a solid decorative granite block has been patched. The “I Will Survive” bug in Hokkaido, which rendered Erich Soders immortal if he was killed during a resuscitation sequence, has also been resolved.

Freelancer mode received significant attention as well.

Players will no longer find themselves soft-locked in the Safehouse garage when selecting certain vehicles. The “Prestige Laptop” will no longer permanently lock players out if they initially select “No” when interacting with it, too.

VR players also see a host of improvements. Including fixes for fade-to-black issues caused by hanging objects. A correction for the “Splitter” mission where a cell door key wouldn’t work, and adjustments to outfit clipping that made Agent 47’s lower body visible in the headset.

The Winter Roadmap: Twitch Drops and Returning Favorites

Looking ahead at the roadmap for December and January, the schedule is packed with rewards and returning content.

The season kicks off with a new Twitch Drop campaign. Linking your IOI account and watching 30 minutes of Hitman content unlocks the “Bomb-Ass Dynamite” until December 14th.

Later in the month, from December 21st to January 9th, a second drop will offer “The Solstice Suit”. Followed by a massive “Twitch Drops Galore” event starting January 22nd that brings back the Purple Streak set.

Finally, the roadmap confirms the return of several fan-favorite events and targets.

The “Holiday Hoarders” mission in Paris and the “Hokkaido Snow Festival” both return on December 18th. Offering players another chance to unlock festive items like the Santa 47 suit and the ICA19 Iceballer.

The Elusive Target rotation is equally busy, featuring The Food Critic on December 12th and The Sensation on December 26th.

Action star Jean-Claude Van Damme returns to the spotlight on December 31st as The Splitter. Giving players another shot at taking down the character Max Valliant.

The season concludes in late January 2026 with the “Year 5 Elusive Target Galore” events. Releasing large batches of previous targets, providing the perfect opportunity for players to complete their suit collections.
