Capcom have released a message for the one-year anniversary of Monster Hunter Wilds, and it is a mix of celebration and digital carnage. In a fresh anniversary message, series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto laid out the roadmap for Version 1.041, arriving February 18.
While this marks the final major content update for the base game, it is far from the end. Ryozo officially confirmed that a massive expansion is currently in development, with more details coming this summer.
Arch-Tempered Arkveld
Arch-Tempered Arkveld is soaring in to provide an extreme 10★ challenge for Hunters who have reached HR100 or higher. The Monster Hunter Wilds flagship is rightfully getting his place back at the top of the chain.
This encounter represents the peak of difficulty for the current endgame, requiring mastery of the new mechanics introduced over the last year.
Completing the Arch-Tempered Arkveld quest grants materials for a powerful Gamma armour set, but the rewards do not stop at gear.
Defeating this flagship threat also unlocks a suite of 10★ quests featuring every Apex predator in the game. A brutal new Hunt-a-thon, and the chance to appraise Timeworn Charms into rare talismans.
Furthermore, players can collect Battle-tempered Emblems to reinforce their Gogma Artian weapons, ensuring their arsenal is ready for the challenges ahead.

A Year in the Forbidden Lands
From February 18 to March 19, the Forbidden Lands will play host to a massive anniversary event.
The Festival of Accord returns on a weekly rotation, accompanied by special log-in bonuses and the Special Supplies: Hunter Appreciation Pack.
To ensure everyone looks their best for the festivities, Capcom is providing a free Character and Palico Edit Voucher to all players.
Fashion hunting is also at the forefront of this update. New Event Quests will unlock the dazzling Gala Suit α armour set for both hunters and Palicos.
Players can also tackle the Every Hunter’s Dream quest to craft the contest-winning Shatterseal Great Sword. Designed by Nolan Lu. And the Meatmergency! pendant by ikei.
For those who enjoy the game’s narrative, a new side mission with the Support Hunter Nadia will allow players to unlock and wear a set of her signature armour.

Collaborations
Capcom is also leveraging the upcoming launch of Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, which is set for release on March 13.
Starting February 18, hunters can participate in an optional transport quest involving Rudy, the Royal Palico.
This mission requires working with Rudy to deliver precious eggs to Pop-up Camps in exchange for special Palico equipment and Monstie-themed pendants.

A year?!
It is bittersweet to see the final update for the base game arrive, but Arch-Tempered fights have a history of keeping the community busy for months.
With the promise of a massive expansion on the horizon, the hunt is clearly just getting started.
Monster Hunter Wilds was our most played game of 2025, and runner-up in our Game of the Year. With recent performance improvements and plenty to still go at. Could it be our most-played in 2026 as well?
