It’s less than a month since Two Point Studios released version 3.0 and now they’ve pushed 4.0 out the door. Talk about efficient!
So, drop your dusty relics and stop polishing those dinosaur bones for a second. Two Point Studios have cracked open the magic vault, and Update 4.0 is here to inject a dose of high-fantasy chaos directly into your museums.
We’re talking yetis, goblins, magic, and a mountain of new content. Let’s dive in.

Get a Taste of the Tavern Life (For Free!)
Let’s get straight to the good stuff: the free loot. Ahead of the full Fantasy Finds DLC dropping on July 17th, the team has given everyone a massive head start. This isn’t some timed demo or a weekend trial; this is a permanent content drop, adding a whole new fantastical layer to the base game.
The goblins have clearly been busy, because you can now send your excavation teams to Scorched Earth, a fairy tale land that’s probably a significant fire hazard.
You’re getting access to the first three Points of Interest. Which means you can start hoovering up six new fantasy-themed exhibits and a bunch of decor items to give your museum that authentic tavern vibe.
The best part? This is all yours to keep. Everything you unlock from this taster is now part of the base game. To jump in, you just need to have cleared Act 1 of Memento Mile, or you can just fire up sandbox mode and go nuts from the get-go.

Climb the Final Peak: The Pointy Mountains Finale
Think you’ve mastered the museum game? Think again. For the veteran curators who have seen and done it all, Update 4.0 adds the ultimate endgame challenge: The Pointy Mountains Finale.
Once you hit the prestigious Curator Class VII, you’ll unlock this absolute unit of a museum. Perched on the highest, snowiest peaks in the County, this is the largest location to date. Your mission?
Finally figure out what happened to that missing curator everyone’s been whispering about. You’ll need to brave the cold, befriend some yetis (as you do), and build the most epic museum of your career. Don’t forget your thermal underwear.

The Good Stuff: Fresh Drops & Smarter Hires
Beyond the headline acts, this update is packed with quality-of-life changes and new goodies that just make sense.
Twitch Drops Are Back
Score some sick new threads for your staff just by chilling and watching your favourite Two Point Museum streamers. From now until August 7th, 2025, you can earn three new staff costumes. They’re purely cosmetic, so no pay-to-win nonsense here.
Hire Your Dream Team Faster
Tired of the terrible trait RNG and the soul-crushing grind of hiring one… person… at… a… time? You can now post job ads for 1, 2, or even 3 experts at once. They’ve also rebalanced the trait system, making it less likely you’ll hire someone with the personality of a wet blanket.
Stealthy Climate Control
For all you green-thumbed curators aiming for maximum immersion in your botany wings, you can now unlock camouflaged, botany-themed Humidifiers and Heaters. Keep your precious plants happy without ugly machinery ruining the vibe.
