Capcom Showcase: Resident Evil Requiem

Capcom just blew the doors off the upcoming Resident Evil Requiem, giving us a deep dive into gameplay, technical specs, and some surprisingly high-end collaborations. With the launch set for February 27, 2026, there is a lot to unpack.

From dual-protagonist mechanics to Porsche-designed SUVs and 30th-anniversary celebrations, here is the breakdown of everything announced for the next chapter in survival horror.

Largely terrified by the genre ourselves, it’s a tough one to be excited about. But Resident Evil is big news and the past few releases have been a huge success, so we have to share the details!

Dual Protagonists, Dual Horrors

The showcase confirmed that Resident Evil Requiem follows two distinct leads, each offering a different flavour of the RE experience. Players can swap between first-person and third-person perspectives at any time.

Leon S. Kennedy, the veteran DSO agent, is back with a more action-oriented approach. He can now use a hatchet for close-quarters combat, parry attacks, and even turn enemy weapons like chainsaws against them.

Grace Ashcroft is an FBI analyst trapped in a zombie-infested sanatorium. Grace represents the survival half of survival horror, with limited inventory and a focus on resource management. She has a unique crafting system using infected blood and carries the powerful Requiem assault revolver, which is a high-stakes weapon with scarce ammo.

The Elpis Mystery and Working Zombies

The story centres on Elpis, a keyword linking Grace’s past to Leon’s current investigation. Interestingly, the zombies in Requiem aren’t just mindless shamblers. Many are fixated on shadows of their former lives. You might encounter a chef obsessed with cooking or a janitor polishing mirrors, which Capcom hints players can exploit to navigate safely.

Cutting-Edge Tech and Platforms

Requiem is launching across several platforms, including PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Epic Games Store, and the Nintendo Switch 2.

PC players are getting the royal treatment with NVIDIA DLSS 4 support and full path-tracing, ensuring the sanatorium looks as terrifyingly realistic as possible.

The game will also be available on the GeForce NOW cloud service on day one, allowing for high-end play on casual laptops, mobile devices, and TVs.

High-Fashion and High-Performance Collaborations

Capcom is leaning hard into luxury partnerships for this release.

First, there is an extraordinary collaboration with the historic watch company Hamilton. They have designed two dazzling watch models that replicate those worn by Leon and Grace in-game. The Khaki Field Auto Chrono and the Pan Europ Automatic will be available in extremely limited quantities of 2,000 units each.

Racing to the finish line is a partnership with Porsche. A one-of-a-kind Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT has been created with complex 3D printing technology to fit into the game’s dark world.

This custom SUV appears in the game as Leon’s personal vehicle.

Anniversary Celebrations and Nintendo Exclusives

As Resident Evil hits its 30th year, Capcom is going big with a Symphony of Legacy orchestral tour hitting Japan, North America, and Europe later in 2026.

For Nintendo fans, a special Generation Pack for the Switch 2 will include Resident Evil 7 Gold Edition, Resident Evil Village Gold Edition, and Requiem all in one bundle.

Furthermore, Grace Ashcroft is officially becoming the first-ever Resident Evil amiibo, scheduled for release in Summer 2026.

Editions and Pre-orders

Players can choose between Standard and Deluxe editions.

The Deluxe version includes the base game plus an exclusive pack of five costumes, four weapon skins, screen filters, and charms.

All pre-orders will receive Grace’s gritty Apocalypse costume as a bonus.

For physical collectors, a Premium Steelbook Edition will be available while supplies last, featuring a limited-edition lenticular card.

Resident Evil Requiem arrives February 27, 2026.
