Here we go! Only a week after taking a break from Monster Hunter Wilds, and we’re back with news, excitement and another Monster Hunter/Street Fighter collaboration on its way.
Two of Capcom’s biggest properties collide once again! Starting next week on 28th may.
Akuma Unleashed
Get ready for an epic crossover! Starting May 28, 2025, Monster Hunter Wilds is bringing the world of Street Fighter 6 to its wild frontiers, featuring the iconic raging demon, Akuma. This isn’t just a cosmetic update; it’s packed with new quests, powerful gear, and unique fighting moves that will completely transform your hunting experience.
The highlight of this collaboration is the new side mission, “Ultimate Strength.” Hunters at HR 21 or higher can kick things off by speaking with Quinn, the Vespae Unit handler at the Oilwell Basin Base Camp. Prepare to face a challenge infused with Akuma’s raw power.
Completing “Ultimate Strength” unlocks a trove of Akuma-inspired rewards, including:
- The full Akuma hunter armor set (and layered armor for stylish hunters)
- A hilarious Blanka-Chan Palico armor set (and layered gear for your furry companion)
- A new Hunter Profile background, nameplate, and pose to show off your dedication
And the best part? This collaboration is permanent! No need to worry about missing out; Akuma’s power will always be there for you to unlock.

Fight like a Street Fighter
Equipping the full Akuma set in Monster Hunter Wilds isn’t just about looking the part—it changes how you play. You’ll gain access to Akuma’s signature martial arts techniques. The new “Assisted Combo: Akuma” command lets you unleash classic moves like Gou Hadoken, Gou Shoryuken, and even Drive Impact, straight from Street Fighter 6.
Your equipped weapon will influence the power of these attacks, and wearing the full armor set boosts your damage, stun properties, and even provides an offset effect with Drive Impact. This is more than just a cosmetic; it’s a game-changer for your hunting strategy.

New Quests, New Challenges
Beyond “Ultimate Strength,” the collaboration introduces two additional arena quests: “Demonic Strength” and “True Strength.” These missions offer even more chances to earn unique rewards while experiencing a completely fresh, Street Fighter-inspired combat style.
Optional DLC for the Ultimate Brawl
For those who want to dive even deeper, Capcom is releasing optional Street Fighter 6-themed DLC also on May 28th. This paid content includes:
- Outfits for your hunter inspired by Chun-Li and Cammy from SF6
- The adorable Blanka-Chan Doll pendant
- A fun Street Fighter 6 sticker set
- Gestures with attack properties: Hadoken, Shoryuken, and Tatsumaki Senpu-kyaku—these aren’t just for show; they pack a punch!

Let’s goooo!
I was only starting to pine for more time in the Wilds again earlier today, and having known the collaboration was due soon, I wanted to see what it was.
Suffice it to say, it’s got me pumped! A new fighting style, whether it’s mostly cosmetic or adds some new depth and strategy, will be cool to see and learn.
The quests, the cosmetics. We’ve got some stuff to chew on and it’s exciting! All for free.
Hope it’s worth another Monster Hunter binge for a couple of weeks.
