As someone that’s been hitting Civilization VI quite hard as of late, being a massive fan of XCOM. And of course, being a fan of Cyberpunk 2077. Neural Dominion looks like it might hit a sweet-spot.

Neural Dominion
Boston, MA – Aug 14, 2024 – Camlann Games and indie dev team, GameBond Studio are pleased to reveal pre-alpha gameplay for Neural Dominion, an upcoming cyberpunk 4X strategy title. The game features a unique setting for the 4X genre (a gritty, crime-infested cyberpunk city), cyberpunk-specific criminal activity and turn-based or “Active Time” JRPG-inspired combat, depending on player preference.
Gameplay features that will be familiar to players in the genre:
- Faction specific strengths & weaknesses
- Turn-based or “Active Time” JRPG-inspired combat
- Sector improvements (economic and strategic)
- Tech research
- Hero customization
How is Neural Dominion different from other titles in the genre:
- Dark, neon-lit cyberpunk maps
- Gang leader personas/lore (borrowing from both classic and modern cyberpunk sensibilities)
- Illicit criminal activity (hacking, extortion, hijacking, tax evasion, assassination)
- Illicit business operations (prostitution, drug running, arms dealing, gambling, bloodsport)
- Police “heat” and bribery
- Global Powers to turn the tide on the campaign map
- Tactical Powers to turn the tide in the combat scape
- Unique cybernetic implants, armor, weapons and consumables

And one of my favorite game settings is well-crafted cyberpunk universes. This scratches both those itches. There’s a lot here that players familiar with the strategy genre will appreciate. Neural Dominion will be releasing to early access late 2024 or early 2025 to PC on Steam and GOG.
