Monster Hunter Wilds: Title Update 4 is Inbound

Just when we thought we had mastered the Forbidden Lands in Monster Hunter Wilds, Capcom has gone and dropped the details for Title Update 4, and it is a monster.

We have been obsessively playing Monster Hunter Wilds here, and it is safe to say it has been dominating our gaming time in 2025. Title Update 4 feels like it’s only going to help us maintain that level of playing, well into the new year.

Here is everything you need to know about what is coming to the Forbidden Lands from 16th December 2025.

The Return of Gogmazios

The headline act is undoubtedly the return of the titanic Elder Dragon, Gogmazios. Slumbering beneath the great forge of Azuz, this beast is waking up, and it threatens widespread destruction.

Capcom is not pulling any punches here. To take down a monster of this scale, we are not just going in as a standard squad. We are tasked with forming parties of eight—that is groups of up to four Hunters and four Support Hunters.

It is a permanent Event Quest, so thankfully there is no fear of missing out.

The rewards look tasty, particularly the new Gogma Artian Weapons. You can upgrade your rarity 8 Artian Weapons using new materials, and bonuses from the original weapon will carry over.

Additionally, you get one random Set Bonus Skill and one random Group Skill. A new feature called Gogma Reinforce allows you to keep or reset bonuses to re-roll for that perfect build using special materials.

For the veterans among us with Hunter Rank 100 or higher, the update also unlocks the Transcendence ability at the forge. This lets you increase the max level of high-rank armour and even enhance decoration slots for rarity 5 and 6 pieces.

It is time to min-max those builds again!

New Challenges & Support

Gogmazios is not the only thing to worry about. On December 24, we are getting Arch-tempered Jin Dahaad as a permanent Event Quest.

If you want that powerful Gamma armor set, you know where to be on Christmas Eve.

There are also new Optional Quests where you can test your skills against multiple 9-star monsters for special Nameplate rewards.

If you need to warm up first, the new Hunting Exercises provide a great way to practice against tempered 9-star monsters without the pressure.

The skilled Nadia joins the Gogmazios quest, alongside Great Sword wielder Griffin and Light Bowgun specialist Nightmist.

It is great to see the roster of AI support growing for those of us who sometimes prefer a solo experience alongside capable NPCs.

The Festival of Accord: Lumenhymn

Starting December 19, the Grand Hub is getting a festive makeover for the Festival of Accord: Lumenhymn.

Expect festive décor, special meals, and the chance to earn special equipment, gestures, and decorations.

We do love a bit of a party in the Hub.

The Road Beyond Update 4

Capcom also gave us a peek at the roadmap for early 2026, and it is packed:

  • January 2026: A Steam-specific stability patch is coming with additional optimization options.
  • February 2026: Arch-tempered Arkveld arrives as the final Arch-tempered monster of Ver. 1.041.
  • March 13, 2026: A Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection collaboration! We are getting Palico armor modeled after Rudy and a special pendant.

On top of all this, there are free Character and Palico Edit Vouchers, new fan-favorite poses, and Cosmetic DLC Pack 4 dropping with the update.

We’re buzzing to get back into the hunt. The coffee pot is on, the weapons are sharpened, and we are ready to face Gogmazios.

See you in the Forbidden Lands!
